Small Steps Will Lead You There

When I paint realistic its more stressful to me than doing an abstract. I feel so much more relaxed when I paint abstracts. So that is my intention going forward. I am not going to stop my journalling and sketching but I feel this strong pull to paint much more intuitively. I need this in my life right now. I have so much going on with work, the new house and just things in general. I need to slow down, get meditating a little more/longer every day and stretchhhh :)
My son is back home and all is right in our house:) Joe took a mini vacation at Grandma and Grandpa's. He got to have a sleepover with his cousins. I know he loves going there and spending free time with the kids. Now that he's back the dog is a bit more settled. Poor Einstein was concerned about our missing child. And, boy, did Joey get a welcome home from the pooch. Very touching. I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Take care:)

Fran, this is absolutely stunning! I think there is something just so magical about your watercolor abstracts. You should definitely follow your heart and continue to explore this style of painting. And if it helps you to meditate and relax then it's really a win/win!

I absolutely adore this piece. I'm not usually one to like abstract--my practical, organized Virgo self finds them too unstructured (aka stressful). But this...this is wonderful. The color, the textures--all of it perfection. Guess it shows that we should stick to what makes us happy. xx

Hi Fran. I absolutely love this painting. I really do. The use of colors and the overall feeling of it is beautiful. I agree, you should definitely follow your gut. Yes, you of course could draw more realistically for the sake of it BUT it's the feeling - doing what feels right for you and that feeling / passion is definitely coming thru here. :)

Fran, your watercolors are fabulous!! And hey, keep following your heart. If you'd rather do abstracts, then do abstracts! Either one is fantastic. Your colours are so captivating... i had such a nice visit here. Glad things are back to "normal" in the house and that Einstein is relieved. xoxo

Thank you so much Pauline! I intend to do just that:)
Yes, boy and dog are reunited and the house is back to its normal noise level:) Very happy for that!

This is very beautiful, Fran!
Thank you for sharing your life and talents ((hugs))
I agree, go with your inner muse :]
I personally enjoy creating with a "loose" feeling, working with mixed-media collage pieces does the trick for me.
When I am not feeling well... NEED TO SLOW IT DOWN, I work on a smaller scale ATC's, tags, or mini journals.
Take care, dear friend. <3

Hi April, thanks for your very kind note! I love your ATCs:) I would also like to see one of your mini journals. Would you have that on Flickr? I'll have to look!
